Vonda was born in the town of LaFayette, Indiana in November 1964. A short time later, her family moved to the southeast where she spent the remainder of her childhood years.

The gift that the Lord has given Vonda first became evident during a fifth-grade choir audition. While listening to the group sing, the choir director heard Vonda's clear, sweet voice and asked her to sing solo. Following the session she called Vonda aside to tell her, "The Lord has given you a gift, I've never heard such a beautiful voice in a young child."

During her high-school years, Vonda enjoyed singing with the Camorada, a select group of singers who traveled on weekends to share their love for Christ through music. By God's leading, Vonda emerged as the soloist for their concerts.

Following high school Vonda attended Southern College in Collegedale Tennessee where she met her husband Merlin. Over the years of their marriage they have been blessed with four wonderful children; Nikki, Meranda, Kaylie and Colton. Even in the midst of the challenges of raising her precious family, Vonda has felt the calling of the Holy Spirit to be "a light bearer" by sharing her God- given abilities. Her prayer was, "Lord, I don't know what to do or how to do it, but if You will lead I will follow." Since that prayer, the Lord has consistently and miraculously opened doors for her to witness through her music and she gives God all the glory.

Over the past few years Vonda has had the honor to sharing her music and testimony in person and by television and radio transmission to a wide varitey of audiences throughout the world. These audiences include churches of all denominations, prisons, International ASI Conventions (Adventist-Laymen's Services and Industries), womens retreats, campmeetings and youth retreats.

Ministry over the air waves includes music from Vonda's CD's being aired on many Christian radio stations in the United States and to even larger audiences abroad. She is honored to be the featured vocal artist on The Quiet Hour's weekly broadcast, "Windows of Hope." Her music is frequently being aired on international satellite by Three Angels Broadcasting Network based out of West Frankfort, Illinois; "Purely Music" KSBN Safe TV out of Tontitown, Arkansas; "Let There Be Light" from the CTS Network in Burlington, Canada, and many other Christian stations. Highlights of media covered live events include: singing for numerous Net evangelistic telecasts; the Voice of Prophecy home coming video production in Orlando; Maranatha 2000; and 100 Huntley Street in Canada.
